Surgical: Executive Committee Member

I am excited to apply for the role of General Executive Committee member of Surgical Society. With my experience in event planning and leadership, I am eager to contribute to the society’s continued success in delivering engaging and educational opportunities for students.

Experience & Skills

As a subcommittee member of the Surgical Society, I have gained insight into event coordination, organisation of equipment, liaising with surgeons, and contributing to the smooth running of surgical conferences such as the Trauma Conference, Orthopaedics Conference and the EDI in Surgery Conference. As Vice President of the Cardiology Society, I organised and executed a successful research networking event where I recruited speakers, coordinated logistics in planning and on the day, refining my skills in teamwork and leadership. Additionally, I have helped in the planning of our annual conference through reaching out on an international level to promote the event, contributed to getting equipments for our workshops, and helped carrying out the event on the day.

I am passionate about Plastic Surgery and I am eager to organise the Plastic Skills Day, inviting Mr Shehan Hettiaratchy, an expert in carpal tunnel care, hand surgery, extremity reconstruction, and plastic and reconstructive surgery to make the event exciting and memorable.
