I’ve seen what makes this society great and what it can do better. As VP, I’ll have the power to shape DoCSoc to better serve YOU! Here’s how:
🎉 Events
I want DoCSoc to create moments you’ll look back on and say, “Wow, I can’t believe we did that.”:
✅ DoCSoc Abroad: Skiing in the Alps, weekends in Barcelona. Why keep it to London?
✅ Uni-Defining Moments: Skydiving, bungee jumping, go-karting—experiences that shape your university story.
And for the day to day: expect more merch, more free drinks and food, more tickets, bigger venues, and a wider range of events.
Finally, no one should have to miss out because of coursework or exams. Next year DoCSoc fits around YOUR life.
💼 Academia/Employment
Applications are tough—I know that firsthand. I’ll push to make recruitment easier:
✅ Exclusive Internships/Interviews: Optiver ran them—why not more? I’ll push companies to hire through DoCSoc.
✅ Coding Challenge: Win amazing prizes (*cough cough* IC Hack tickets) while learning.
✅ Sponsor Talks: No more boring talks—I’ll push for interactive events.
✅ DoCSocXStartups: Startup culture in the UK is lacking; DoCSoc can change that.
And for the alumni, I didn't forget about you! Previously, DoCSoc hasn’t done enough for postgrads and alumni. Expect alumni mixers and postgrad-friendly socials, so you stay connected with DoCSoc long after Imperial.
