Hey!
I'm Kai, and I want to be your DoCSoc VP. I’ve organised IC Hack for 2 years, so I’ve seen first-hand the scale of DoCSoc and the effort needed to keep things running smoothly - I’m more than ready to put that effort in.
As for my leadership experience, I’ve co-led a 30-person international team at a sustainability startup, managing projects across time zones, and running events at a national scale alongside my degree. Combined with my work at IC Hack, I know how to handle pressure, and keep teams on track.
But what do I want to do?
- Level up IC Hack for everyone. Hackers love it, but let's build hype - did you like the golden ticket hunt? The sticker competition? The volunteer benefits? Expect more of that.
- Scared of the job search? Let's fix that. Everyone’s seen the fear-mongering on social-media, so I'll increase academic, industrial and entrepreneurial events so that you learn about every pathway within CS.
- Make Huxley less depressing! It's a bit of an onslaught of... blue and white. I'll work (with you!) to add some colour and make it a space we actually like.
- Be more transparent. Everyone knows we've got a big budget, but you probably don’t know what DoCSoc does with it. I want you to know about what we do and take on your ideas to guide us.
- And of course — keep delivering the DoCSoc you love, with barnights, days out, and even more pizza.
