Aisling Zhang

Heya! I'm Aisling, a first year Computing student and I am hoping to be one of your Events Officers next year.

Having been a bit of a events warrior this year, I've been able to thoroughly engage in the events offered by DocSoc and enjoyed every one. I would love to be on the other side of these events, to continue running current activities (big up bar nights) next year as well as coming up and and bringing fresh, new ideas to the table. I would like to continue bringing to you more of the amazing academic and industrial events, perhaps running more hands on workshops or more networking events. As well as this I would love to bring more social events to you, such as DocSoc-wide game of assassins, allowing more people across years to meet.

I was fortunate enough to be an organiser for ICHack this year, where I helped run challenges like the Karaoke session. This experience gave me great insight into how DoCSoc events are organised, and I’d love to use this knowledge to contribute to and enhance both ICHack and other DoCSoc events next year, taking in your opinions and contributing to the team.
