Dear Biochemistry Society Members,

Hello! My name is Charlotte, and I’m a second-year Biochemistry student running to be your next Secretary.

I believe our society should be a place where we can connect, learn, and grow together, whether it's through academic support, career guidance, or simply having fun with like-minded peers. I recognise that departmental societies do not always cater for everyone, but I will make our society a welcoming and engaging space for us all. As biochemists, we are united by our passion (or perseverance) for the subject, and I am committed to strengthening that sense of community.

Having had experience in numerous leadership roles like House Captain, I have experience bridging the gap between administration and students, ensuring clear communication and efficient organisation. I will bring the same dedication to this role, helping create a more engaged and well-connected Biochemistry society.

As your next Biochemistry Secretary, I will:

• Deliver clear and concise weekly emails to keep everyone informed
• Provide valuable resources beyond society news, including any ongoing opportunities and study tips
• Facilitate meetings and maintain transparency by publishing the minutes when possible
• Contribute to the planning of diverse events by maintaining a comprehensive document for event planning
• Keep the “Meme of the Week” tradition alive :p

I believe that my experiences complement my capability to serve as your Secretary. With your support, I am committed to driving our society’s success by creating a fun and engaging community.
