Physics: Vice President for Education

Hi this is Yuquan from Physics. I’ve really enjoyed the PhySoc events and I’d love to contribute.

If elected, I promise to:

  1. Organise more lab tours - Want to know what's behind the scenes, your lecturer's top-secret research and closer to the dangerous stuff you never get to use? I will make sure you get to explore Blackett beyond the lecture hall and the silent study space.
  2. Bring in many more speakers - Regular events featuring a diverse range of speakers, whether it’s Nobel Prize winners, industrial scientists or your favourite Imperial professor. I will ensure the lineup of speakers is as exciting as you want it to be.
  3. Organise more conferences - More collaborations with London universities, Oxford, and Cambridge. Physics is more fun with more ideas and smart people together. Plus, this is a great opportunity to network and share your passion = better CV = higher probability of getting a job.
  4. Food and snacks - As we have all observed, food is a fundamental force of the universe. You (and the speakers too) deserve some energy after engaging with the speakers - expect a diverse menu of refreshments and no jealousy over Computing’s dry Domino’s pizza.

Am I able to do this? Having been in the executive committee of my high school’s Physics society (the biggest society in the school), I had experiences organising talks, reaching out to guest speakers as well as coordinating logistics.

I hope you will vote for me, your chance to have great food with great speakers.
