Siyeon Kang

Hi everyone, I’m a second-year chemical engineering student, and I’m running to be your next Industrial & Sponsorship Officer for Chem Eng Soc. I’m passionate about understanding the needs of students and communicating with firms for creative partnerships!

I am currently manifesting this as Industrial Head at Women in Trading, advancing to Vice President the coming year, where we have partnerships with Jane Street, Optiver, Flow Traders, and more. I’m also in talks with energy firms, including INEOS—an industry leader in carbon capture! These experiences have given me the chance to connect with professionals across different fields, and I want to bring that to Chem Eng Soc to help more students explore careers with more interactive events.

My main focus will be understanding the needs of everyone, and based on that securing partnerships with companies across industry to create bespoke opportunities for our society. I want to bring in more than just talks, but interactive events such as workshops or challenges where both us and the firm can understand each other in a meaningful way.

Whether you’re interested in going into research, industry, or exploring alternative paths, I want to help build partnerships to bring relevant and exciting industry exposure to our society.
