Hiruka De Costa

Hey guys,

My name is Hiruka and I am a 1st year chemistry student.

I have been on subcommittee for the last couple months and would love to take on an executive committee role next year!

Some of the plans I'd like to implement are:

• Building off of Neo + Ari's work – creating a sense of family and community over anything
• At least biweekly socials - would like to do more cultural events/learning opportunities
• Sapphire – taking in all the feedback we received this year and making next year even better
• Getting a general society sponsor
• Do some fundraising events – either for Sapphire or charity

For this years sapphire I helped out a variety of different departments. I was originally on the sponsorship team and secured this years diamond sponsor, The Student's Visa. I also created the handsales spreadsheet which tracked committee members' personal ticket sales. Alongside this I helped design the souvenir. I have loved taking on this challenge (some would argue, even more than my degree) and I can't wait to do it again next year!
