Carol Chen

Law: Secretary

My name is Cazza, and I’m currently a second-year physics student. I initially joined LawSoc in my first year due to my interest in becoming a patent attorney. However, through attending numerous LawSoc events, my focus shifted towards corporate law, resulting in my attending open days at HSF and Covington this year, and planning on starting vac scheme applications in my final two years. LawSoc has been instrumental in guiding me through this transition, providing invaluable insight into the legal profession from a STEM background. Indeed, this year, I attended the vast majority of LawSoc events, from networking sessions at Taylor Wessing and HSF, to talks from the UoL, all of which have been incredibly enlightening. As such, I am eager to give back by contributing to the society through a committee role.

As Secretary, I would bring strong organisational and communication skills, developed through my role as History Society Secretary. This position has involved managing social media, designing promotional materials, and coordinating events—from arranging guided tours to securing venues for pub quizzes and hosting museum visits. I have enjoyed my role immensely, staying on to run for HistorySoc president next year, and would love to bring the knowledge and experience I gained in the process to LawSoc.
