Squash has been a part of my life since I was young, and I understand how challenging it is to grow and improve as a player. I’ve quit and restarted countless times, even spending five years away from the sport before coming to Imperial. I never thought I’d play again, but at the first social event, the sport came back like muscle memory, as if I had never stopped. Joining the squash team rekindled my love for the game and gave me a community that has made my university experience better. Playing again has provided me with discipline, and its impact on my life since age 7 is unexplainable.
As captain, I want to grow our team in both size and morale, ensuring that more players—especially freshers—feel inspired to join and stay. We will have structured trainings, increased match play opportunities, and a competitive yet fun atmosphere where everyone can enjoy the game. I want to build a stronger, tighter knit community so that the members of the club can come closer and feel a sense of pride to be apart of the squash club. Together, we will make Imperial’s squash team stronger than ever.
I hope more people rediscover their love for the sport as I did. This team has given me so much—I would love the opportunity to give back and lead us to greater success.
