From court to pitch, we play all night!”
From basketball at 8 AM to captain ball at 11 PM, my friends back home joke that if I’m not asleep, I’m playing sports. In Malaysia, finding a game was easy—just head to a nearby court or a friend’s condo. In London? Not so much. Sports shouldn’t feel like a logistical nightmare—that’s why I’m running for Sports Officer.
Why Me?
- Organizer of interhouse sports in high school and 3v3 basketball championship in college
- Captain of my college basketball team
- Currently playing for Imperial’s Women’s 2 Basketball & MGames netball
- Certified belayer and lead climber
- Top 10 in Beit Hall table tennis league
As Sports Officer, I will:
✅ Improve Weekly Sports Sessions – Strategic scheduling, better venue bookings, discounted sports passes, and collaborations with other societies for shared-interest sports.
✅ Organize Social Sporting Events – Obstacle Course Race, Around-the-World Table Tennis, beginner-friendly inter-university sports games, and watch parties for major sports events.
✅ Enhance MGames Experience – Arranging a subsidised round-trip coach transport as well as organising the production of ICUMS jerseys for members to wear at MGames, boosting team spirit even among supporters.
✅ Launch a Gym and Bouldering Buddy System – To help beginners find workout partners and remove the intimidation of going alone.
