Hi!

My name is Xiaoping and I am currently in third year. As many of you would agree, social events in a society can play a very important role to enhance your experience of studying, especially in a course that can be stressful at times. In the past year I had the privilege to be your Social Secretary and deliver a variety of social events. I would like to continue on doing that and make things even better. I am committed to keep running the well-received events, such as Pub Crawl, Quiz Night and Intergration Bee. This year we had a lot of successful collab events with other societies, including UCL Physics Society. I will keep that up and aim to expand the range of societies we collaborate with. Though I will not stop coming up with new ideas for events! Here are some ideas:

• annual events such as Physoc Boat Party and Christmas Dinner will be continued
• organised social with other departments, both within and outside of the RCSU
• bar nights and pub crawls
• fun tournaments such as sports tournament, chess, Mario Kart, etc., with other departments or unis — in a friendly manner of course! ;)
• sports socials within the department such as ultimate frisbee or five-a-side football in Hyde Park
• More Collaboration with Women in Physics and Physics LGBTQ+ Network
