Students for Global Health: Secretary

Hi everyone, my name is Ishika! I'm a first-year Biotechnology student at Imperial and I’m running for Secretary because global health isn’t just something I care about—it’s something I’ve lived. Growing up in a country where private healthcare dominates, I’ve seen people struggle for even the most basic medical care. It’s frustrating, it’s unfair, and it’s what pushed me to take action. Before coming to Imperial, I founded and ran a health equity non-profit, expanding it across three continents, organizing fundraisers, donation drives, and awareness campaigns to support communities in need. My previous experience in organization, communication, and leadership has equipped me with the skills needed to ensure the smooth administration of this society.

So why vote for me as Secretary? Well, I know how to keep things running smoothly—from managing organizations to handling communications and logistics. I’ll make sure our newsletters are actually fun to read, our minutes are clear, and our elections are run fairly. Plus, I’ve got ideas! Imagine a monthly “Global Health Spotlight” featuring student projects, expert interviews, and must-know updates in the field. Or collaborations with other societies to bring fresh perspectives and reach more people.

I’m ready to bring my experience, energy, and love for global health to this role.

I hope you vote for me!
