Greetings party people!

I joined sailing at the start of this year and have loved every second of it which is why I would I like to nominate myself to join the committee next year. As treasurer I would like to improve the glorious Imperial sailing by promoting growth both within Imperial and the university sailing community. The key to growing the society is in increasing active members. Here are some of my ideas to achieve this:

• Pushing beginner and social sailing (including socials) by investing in some training boats
• Pushing windsurfing by providing funding for equipment and running beginner courses with QM
• Summer sail week is one of the most popular and famous trips within Imperial which is a huge opportunity for growth. Getting people excited for this all throughout the year with a couple big socials/activities is something I think would be beneficial.
• I think pushing to improve the squad is also something that is extremely important. I think the best approach to this is to maximise event access while still keeping it affordable.

As a treasurer here are my priorities:

• Planning and budgeting from day one
• Constant communication with committee, especially with race captain and commodore to ensure the financial viability of club actions
• Conversing with sponsorship officer to get sponsorship
• Maximising the affordability of event tickets
• Setting aside money for boat maintenance e.g. boat covers
• Ensure transport to QM is always available (ensuring good fuel reimbursement for drivers)
