Niharika Jha

Hi everyone, I'm Niharika, and I'm hoping to be next year's ChemEng Soc Treasurer!

As a second year thriving (just about surviving) through Term 2, one thing I can always rely on is this society! ChemEng Soc means a lot to me, since no matter how tough the course gets, there is always an event that helps uplift spirits and encourage me enough to keep going for one more week. For this reason, I am excited by the opportunity to give back to this wonderful society, and contribute to its future growth!

A few key aspects I will bring to the role, learned from my experiences on multiple organisational committees in school, are:

Financial clarity: money management, understandably, doesn't come easy to everyone, but I will strive to ensure that each member of the committee is able to understand any financal statement made, through easy availability and regular updates.

Responsible budgeting: I understand the importance of strict budgeting to ensure smooth sailing of prized society activities. I will implement careful budgeting, to allow for realistic allocation of funds to required areas, while remaining flexible for any unforeseen circumstances that come about.

Clear communication and prompt action: A large part of this role entails communicating efficiently with multiple parties, including fellow committee members, as well as Union. I can assure perfect capability for effective collaboration, corresponding with all groups, to move forward with any plans that need financial approval or assistance.
