Bio Engineering: Treasurer
Hey Bioengineering Society,
I’m Rodi, a third-year Molecular Bioengineer, and I’m running for re-election as your treasurer. Over the past year, I have worked to ensure that our society’s finances directly support initiatives that benefit you—whether through academic and career-focused events or social gatherings that strengthen our community.
What I’ve Achieved as Treasurer
- Expanded Industrial Events – Organised industry talks and networking sessions to connect students with professionals and career opportunities.
- UROP 101 – Supported and helped develop this event, ensuring it provided valuable guidance on securing research placements. I plan to expand similar initiatives.
- Spring Formal – Introduced our new flagship event.
- More Activities and Wellbeing Events – Including the weekly Bioengineering Fruit Basket, Valentine’s giveaways, Chinese New Year celebrations, movie nights, and social events to foster a stronger community.
My Plan for Next Year
- More Industrial and Career-Focused Events – Expanding our industry talks and networking opportunities.
- UROP 101 & Beyond – Strengthening and expanding research placement support with more tailored sessions.
- Increased Sponsorship & Funding – Securing external funding to support bigger and better events without raising costs.
- Student-Driven Budgeting – Ensuring society funds go towards what you want most.
With experience as your treasurer, I know how to make every penny count.
Re-elect me as Treasurer – because experience delivers results.
