ABACUS: Junior Treasurer

Hey everyone! My name is Ji Oh, a first year MechEng student, and I’m excited to be running for junior treasurer next year!

Having grown up in Korea before moving to Indonesia at the age of 6 and attending an international school, I was lucky to grow up in a microcosm of a diverse mix of cultures. This experience shaped my appreciation for diversity, and as a part of ABACUS, I hope to bring even more cultural representation through various events into society. ABACUS has been a home away from home for me and I hope to make every member feel the same way :)

Now to the important topic of why I am the BEST candidate for junior treasurer:

First, I am a MechEng student—so yes, I’m quite a nerd when it comes to numbers and finances.
Second, as the head of logistics for my high school’s graduation team I managed a budget of over £20,000 (still now sure why they trusted a bunch of high schoolers, but we did it!)
Third, I was the president of two clubs, where I have learned the Importance of organising, budgeting events, and making events unforgettable.

If elected, I would love to introduce a variety of Asian cuisines (Apart from Chinese) to our events—from the sweet martabak manis to the ultimate Korean afterschool comfort food, bunsik.
