Takumi Parker
Hi everyone! I’m Takumi Parker, a 1st year student studying Physics and I would be honoured if I could represent JapSoc next year as its Treasurer. I’ve loved being part of the community this past half a year and if I could get the opportunity to try and make it even more welcoming and enjoyable, I would pour my heart and soul into it. It wouldn’t be an overstatement to say that I would throw my reputation away for JapSoc, literally.
There are a couple reasons why I would be suited for this role. The first is that I have never gone into debt. This shows how I am careful and organised in the way I manage money. I will treasure our budget like my baby and use it effectively to maximise the enjoyment for all members of this community.
Beyond finances, I would help in keeping this society as welcoming as it has been to me. A lot of my closest friends that I currently have are people I met within the first week at JapSoc events. I have managed to make friends from universities up and down the country and even from universities in Japan. I couldn’t have imagined this without the effort of the committee and JapSoc. It would be amazing if I could emulate this for younger years by organising even more events that are fun, inclusive and memorable.
Thank you for taking the time to read my manifesto and for the consideration!
