Yuriko Masui
Hey everyone! I am Yuriko, a second year civil engineering student and the current social secretary for basketball soc.
Being a part of this society has not only given me opportunities to train basketball, but has allowed me to make friends across courses and years, paint my team mates’ faces every so often, travel to Paris twice, and experience a real sense of belonging.
I am excited to step up and take on the role of president next year, to further contribute to this society’s success and provide exciting opportunities for members!
Some of the key ideas for next season include:
- Hosting a mixed basketball tournament, inviting people from all different sports and providing more game opportunities for d-sesh and recreational teams
- Advertising and providing face paints and cheer sticks at big home games to increase spectators
- Designing society merch including matching fleeces to warm up in and basketball socks!!
Following Miren and bego, I have big shoes to fill but I look forward to working closely with the rest of the committee and everyone in the society to make the next season the best one yet!
