Henry Barham
Hi, I'm Henry, a 2nd year medic(who chose the right side of the boathouse).I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at ICBC; from being social sec, to assisting with novices, to going for squad breakfasts, to racing in the 1st,2nd and 3rd VIIIs.
As club captain I will build on my work as social sec, to develop a productive, healthy and fun culture around the club. I believe I am well placed to assist with the upcoming transition, having previously displayed a good quality of communication with coaches. I will use this to help build a strong healthy and open communication between all squads and the new coaching team. I hope to use this moment to help make this club take a step forward, rediscovering our history of success, by learning from our previous years. I hope to improve the transition from the novice squad to the senior squad and ensure the needs of both the women's and men's squads are fairly represented by talking with the captains and members of each squad.
I intend to dedicate a significant proportion of my time, next year to the club. My organisational and administrative experience from social sec and the jobs I had during my gap year has put me in the perfect position to lead the club forward into the new year.
There are a few key things I would like to implement:
-More individualised coaching, including video and telemetry feedback
-Coxes program
-Focus on communicating a defined rowing style, implemented by the new coach
