Cross Country & Athletics: Chair

Hi everyone, I'm back.

Having been chair for a year now, I've got a much better idea of what improvements are feasible and will have the biggest impact.

Here’s my vision for the year ahead:

  1. Boost Female Participation
    We’ll build on the success of initiatives like MoveHerWay by running more female-only sessions. Collaborating with Imperial Athletes on their Female Participation Badge will provide funding and further support for these sessions.

  2. Engage Non-Competitive Runners
    I'd like to make competitions more accessible and enjoyable for everyone in the club. I’ll organize more Imperial-only events, similar to our athletics taster sessions, and ideally (funding allowing) introduce a beginner-friendly club competition. This will offer a low-pressure way to introduce people to track events.

  3. Secure the Future of Hyde Park Relays
    To make sure HPR is financially viable in the future, I’ll work closely with Imperial Athletes and LUCA early on, coordinating with Royal Parks and advertising to other clubs well in advance.
