To all cyclists,
I’m Gino, and I’m running to be your next Cycling Club Chair. As both a road cyclist and mountain biker—combining skills in cyclocross and XCO racing—I understand and represent all sides of our club. I want to help the club grow beyond simply cycling together.
Our club should be more than just a group ride. I’ll organize more socials, which could encourage people to join the club who may be on the fence, and most importantly make it more fun for current members.
Too many off-road riders don’t even know we exist! I want to make the mountain biking voice heard, because I for one thought there was no way you could do MTB in London, and yet I was proved wrong. More social media coverage of both the roadies and mtbers would only be beneficial to the club.
Finally, racing isn’t just for the elite. I’ll push for more varsity races, cross-university events, and friendly club competitions like hill climbs—more accessible ways to get into racing without the stress of getting chopped in a cat 4 hillingdon crit. I also think we should build a presence at BUCS - to show that a London uni can be good at cycling!
