Fellwanderers (Imperial Hiking Society): President

Hi everyone, I'm Dan. If we haven't met yet, I’ve been on committee this past year, helping to organise hikes and ensure things run smoothly.

I've been Fellwanderering since the very start of my first year and it has truly become the backbone of my time here at Imperial. I will do everything I can to ensure that you can have the same great experiences that I've had in this society!

What I aim to bring to the club:

  • Create a beginner-friendly hiking environment. We are a large society and consequently have members with a large range of hiking ability and experience, so it is important that we offer trips that cater to everyone. Fear not, masochists; the 50/100 km hikes are here to stay!
  • Offer two trips per weekend when appropriate. Some of the weekend trips we offer can have very low capacities and can be quite selective. I think it makes sense to offer an additional day trip in these weekends to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to go on a hike.
  • Hikes for charity. I have been involved in some treks for charity before and know just how rewarding they can be. I think that it would be great if we could do something similar as a society and organise a challenge for a good cause!

Thank you for reading. I would love to have the opportunity to be President and contribute to this amazing community again next year!
