Physics: President

Hi everyone,

I’m Fatiha, a third-year Physics student and currently the Vice President of Operations for PhySoc.

Over the past two years, I’ve had the opportunity to organise key events like BahFest Festival 2024, launched the Researchathon with RCSU societies, and hosted PhD panels to support our academic community.

As your President, I will build a more connected and ambitious PhySoc, strengthening existing events while introducing new opportunities for students to thrive.

Innovative Plans for PhySoc

  • Enhancing UG & PG Networking – More events connecting undergraduates, postgraduates, and staff to foster academic and career growth.
  • Outreach to Inspire Future Physicists – Programs to promote physics to younger students and increase engagement.
  • Boosting PhySoc’s Social Media – Expanding our online presence to showcase our community and keep members involved.
  • Launching the PhySoc Magazine – A platform for students to publish articles, research insights, and physics discussions.

Continuing & Expanding Successful Initiatives

  • QUIRK – The London Universities Physics Conference – Following its success this year, I will ensure QUIRK continues to grow as a flagship event for physics students across London.
  • Researchathon – I will continue this collaborative event, strengthening interdisciplinary connections between students and societies within RCSU.
  • Signature PhySoc Events – I will maintain and improve our existing events, from career panels to movie nights, ensuring PhySoc remains an inclusive and thriving community.

With your support, we can make PhySoc bigger, better, and more impactful than ever!

Thank you for your time, and I hope to earn your vote!
