Physicists! I am pleased to announce my standing alongside the many worthy nominees for the 2025 PhySoc Presidential Election!
Should I be granted the privilege of presidency, I will follow in the capable footsteps of our former leader, extending strong interdepartmental and interuniversity ties for the enrichment of our members, without diverting attention from beloved festivities - the Christmas dinner and boat party - in addition to casual weekly events like movie nights. As for academic events such as lab tours, guest lectures and competitions, it goes without saying that they are to be maintained and grown. With that, there are three frontiers that I particularly wish to expand in my tenure as president:
- Emphasis on Sporting Events - We have a legendary, unfounded reputation for stewing in antisocial inactivity.
- Useage of the PhySoc Website - Specifically to gain sponsorship (lowering ticket prices) and to advertise events.
- More Frequent Crossovers with AstroSoc - These crossovers have been particularly well-recieved, but distinctly lack hot drinks...
As year three co-academic rep, I am experienced in working with the department and have been connected with greatly helpful members of faculty, helping me smoothly adjust to and perform my duties once elected. I look forward to supporting my committee, and promise to raise our standard to new heights!
