Astronomy: President

Lost among the stars? Let’s navigate the cosmos together!

Ever wanted to stargaze but had no one to share the moment with? Or felt astronomy was just equations and jargon? I believe astronomy should be for everyone—whether you're a seasoned astrophysics student or an absolute beginner.

As your President, I will make Imperial Astrosoc a vibrant, welcoming community with three key goals:

1) More Activities: Bi-weekly meetups featuring talks on interesting celestial events, followed by stargazing (weather permitting). At the start of each month, I’ll introduce a "Night Sky This Month" talk, plus send out bite-sized tips to help you explore the universe in your own time. And for those who just want to chill under the stars? More “unofficial” casual stargazing socials—tea and snacks included!

2) Bigger Outreach: I’ll establish university exchanges and observatory visits, especially with UCL, to immerse members in the wider astronomy scene. We’ll also give back to the community by running events in schools —because the wonders of the universe should be shared with everyone.

3) Stronger Connections: I’ll invite Astrophysics faculty and researchers for guest talks and fireside chats, giving us the chance to learn and network with them.

Being the former Chairperson of my high school’s Astronomy Club, I pioneered our first-ever exchange programs and community outreach initiatives. I’ve also volunteered and worked with observatory telescopes at the Science Center in Singapore. Now, I’m ready to bring that passion and experience here!

Vote for me, and let’s make Astrosoc shine brighter than ever!
