What’s up Mech Eng!

If we haven’t officially met, you’ve probably seen me sprinting around campus with a squash racket. I’m Sanan, and I’d love to be your chair next year—bringing fresh ideas, good vibes, and a whole lot of energy to the society we love!

As one of the largest societies at Imperial, we have the potential to throw some smashing events! This year, I want to champion more socials (bowling bash, curry nights, and beyond) while keeping them easy on the wallet. The budget might have shrunk, but I’ll keep tussling with the union to get us more money!

You have enough people making your life a living nightmare (design week what?). We do the opposite. I want well-being and sports to be an even bigger part of MechSoc. Beyond yoga, we could have puppy therapy, casual gaming nights, a department-wide hopscotch competition—any feasible ideas you might have to decompress!

This year’s committee did a great job hosting so many industrial events (better than AeroSoc🔫), and that will remain a focus next year!

Though I haven’t served on MechSoc’s committee, my experience as Head Boy and roles in other CSPs will ensure next year runs smoothly! More than titles, I absolutely love meeting people and hearing your ideas firsthand. I promise to stay approachable, dedicated, and ready to make next year unforgettable!
