Kelly Baker

Hi everyone! I’m Kelly, a fourth-year Geophysics student returning from my year abroad at the University of British Columbia, Canada in September 2025.

My time abroad was an incredible experience—new cities, cultures, and perspectives which have truely expanded my horizons. That being said, preparing for the year abroad was full of uncertainties and anxieties; as President, I will strengthen and expand our community, connecting students before, during, and after their time abroad. I want to build a well-informed network where we can share experiences, support each other, feel inspired and prepared for all future endevours!

Key Ideas

✅ Q&A Panels – Faculty-specific sessions where returning students help prospective year-abroad (second-year) students make informed choices.
✅ ‘Reel' Day in the Life Campaign – students who are currently abroad produce a 'day in the life' video (or similar) for our instagram reels, creating a virtual diary of what it is like to exchange in these universities. Get the word out about the Erasmus club!
✅ Themed social events - anything and everything: classic country-themed pub crawl, karaoke night, wine glass painting, hiking, fancy dinners - the lot!

Why Me?

I have extensive leadership experience—from becoming a qualified Scout leader in Canada to co-founding a youth medical volunteer group in Vancouver (PacificSpiritMedvents.com), and I built and deisgned the logo and website myself. I also am an Imperial Student Ambassador, mentoring prospective students and assisting on summer schools, open days and campus tours.
