Jiaying Lin
I’m thrilled to announce my candidacy for Vice President of Mathematics. With a deep passion for math and a commitment to our community, I aim to create a vibrant, inclusive, and supportive environment where everyone can explore the beauty of mathematics, enhance their skills, and apply mathematical thinking in innovative ways.
Vision
I envision a community where every member feels valued, motivated, and equipped to achieve their full potential in mathematics and beyond.
Key Initiatives
-
Bigger & Better Career Fairs: I’ll organize larger career fairs with more freebies and enhanced outreach to prominent companies, including international opportunities for students looking to work abroad.
-
Integration Bees & Competitions: Inspired by MIT’s Integration Bees, I’ll make internal Bees more frequent and inclusive, encouraging students of all backgrounds to participate and sharpen their skills.
-
Social & Networking Events: I’ll introduce new traditions and enhance existing ones, including inter-departmental sports, Christmas and summer dinners, and weekly activities like game nights and movie screenings—all with plenty of free food!
-
Alumni & Networking Opportunities: I’ll arrange alumni talks and strengthen collaborations with other math communities, including Oxbridge and European institutions, to broaden our network.
Why Me?
I’m approachable, passionate, and always open to feedback. Whether it’s through career fairs, social events, or academic competitions, I’m committed to making MathSoc a welcoming and exciting space for everyone.
Let’s work together to make this year unforgettable—vote for me, and let’s build a stronger, more connected math community!
