I am Rakesh Bhaskaran, and I'm running for VCSA!!!
As an active member of ICSM’s vibrant community, I have seen firsthand the impact that clubs and societies have on student life—improving opportunities for well-being, personal growth, and forging lifelong friendships. Having served as President of ICSM Badminton, I have faced numerous challenges while setting up and running my society. However, I also understand the rewards of leading one, and I am eager to improve and enhance this experience for all students by being your voice and advocating for the things that truly matter.
Key Ideologies:Supporting CSPs More Effectively
I understand that most CSPs are highly self-sufficient, and the union provides support when necessary. However, from personal experience, I believe this process can be improved—especially in terms of response times. I will advocate for better streamlining of emails and queries, ensuring specialized responses in a timely manner.
Increasing Communication Before Decisions Are Made
It has been brought to my attention that many decisions affecting CSP committees are made without prior consultation, with feedback only being requested after actions are taken. While I respect that all decisions are made with the intent of improving our experience, I believe transparency and student input are crucial. By leveraging my role and any insight it provides into future plans, I will work within my limits to gather ICSM student input before key decisions are finalized.
