CGCU: Wellbeing Officer

My name is Sky Wang, and I am running for CGCU Wellbeing Officer because I believe our community thrives when every student has the support, resources, and opportunities they need to succeed—both academically and personally. Over my time at Imperial, I’ve come to appreciate just how challenging our courses can be, and how vital it is to balance rigorous study with robust mental and emotional support.

As Wellbeing Officer, I will focus on creating accessible and practical well-being resources. This means collaborating closely with the Deputy President (Welfare) to bring mental health workshops to departments, organize regular de-stress events, and advocate for more transparency around available support services. I aim to encourage open conversations about mental health, reduce stigma, and ensure everyone feels comfortable seeking help.

Additionally, I want to strengthen community ties by promoting inclusive social activities and mentorship programs that help students form friendships across departments and years. Beyond that, I will strive to keep lines of communication open—inviting feedback, sharing updates, and actively listening to student concerns.
