Tony Zeng
I am Junyu Zeng, a third-year student majoring in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, passionately seeking to be your next Wellbeing Chair. Life at Imperial is exciting yet challenging, and I believe wellbeing is the foundation of fulfilling university experience.
Having actively engaged in leadership roles and committees, I am eager to bring these experiences to CGCU. Seeing many friends and colleagues struggle with personal challenges, I developed deep understanding of the challenges we face and propose these priorities:
- Strengthening Mental Health Support: Mental health is the foundation of everything. I will work to ensure students have full and prompt access to mental health resources and both internal and external support services, raise awareness and correct misunderstandings about mental health issues.
- Enhancing Work-Life Balance: I will work closely with CGCU colleagues, organize wellbeing-focused events and social activities to help students de-stress and recharge.
- Prompting Open Communication: Your voice matters! I will engage with student feedback and strengthen communication between all Engineering students and their departmental wellbeing representatives.
- Sexual Health: Crucial yet often overlooked, I will strive to increase informational campaigns and events that raise sexual health awareness, and work with CGCU to provide adequate sexual health supplements.
I believe wellbeing is never just about addressing problems, but also focusing on creating a supportive environment where everyone can flourish. My candidacy is filled with engagement, and I am committed to ensuring that we, as students, feel respected, heard, and cared for.
Thank you for your consideration. I hope to earn your support!
