Shreya Mehta
Hi! My name is Shreya, I'm a third year medic, and I would love to be your next Welfare vice-chair. SU is such an integral part of ICSM; I know first-hand how important of role they play in making ICSM as wonderful as it is. During my freshers (back in the day!) I remember feeling quite nervous about the new changes that came along with starting university - making new friends, having to be independent, the new format of learning - but a member of ICSMSU made me feel a lot less alone, chatting with me at boat party and helping to alleviate a lot of my stress. To this day, I still remember that experience, and how wonderful they were in making me feel a lot less scared about the daunting nature of being in a new place with new people. I would love to be able to give back to the ICSM community, and help foster the same welcoming environment that that individual did for me.
Welfare is a key part of the ICSM community - we've all seen the welfare snapshots at the end of the lectures - and I would love to contribute. Running campaigns for welfare is no easy task, but I believe I am well suited to the role, having been part of running events in both university and school. I love to work with others and I know that teamwork is an essential ICSMSU, especially regarding the welfare of our fellow students.
Thank you for your consideration!
