Hi! I'm Antony, and I'm running to be your Welfare Vice Chair!
As the 2nd Year Well-being Representative, I worked closely with faculty, student reps, and the SU to advocate for student welfare and ensure concerns were addressed effectively. This experience has given me insight into the challenges students face and how we can improve the systems that support them.
If elected, my goals are to:
- Increase transparency around SSLGs – Ensuring that students receive clear, timely updates on discussions and decisions made in SSLGs, so they feel more informed and involved in shaping their academic experience.
- Continue key well-being initiatives – Building on projects I’ve been involved in, such as a travel scheme to support students facing financial barriers and improving awareness of the Academic Tutor role so students can better utilize it for guidance and support.
- Pass on knowledge to new reps – Having gained experience in the role and presenting to staff, I want to support next year’s reps by equipping them with the tools and confidence to advocate effectively.
- Strengthen peer support networks – Expanding mentorship programs and creating safe spaces for open discussions on well-being.
Well-being goes beyond crisis management—it’s about fostering a community where everyone feels supported, valued, and empowered. I’d love the opportunity to build on the progress we’ve made and continue improving student welfare.
