Biochemistry (UG): Departmental Wellbeing Representative

Hi, I’m Jason!

I’m a first-year Biotechnology student at Imperial, and I know how overwhelming university life can be. Adjusting to a new academic environment, managing stress, and balancing social life can be challenging. That’s why I’m running to be your Biochem Wellbeing Representative - to help create a supportive community where students feel heard, valued, and empowered.

My Priorities:

🧠 Mental Health & Impostor Syndrome
Many students, especially freshers, struggle with impostor syndrome. I want to hold at least three monthly discussions for first-years to create a space where students can share their experiences and support each other.

💆‍♂️ Reducing Stress & Pressure
Imperial is an academically intense environment, and I want to introduce more stress management initiatives to help reduce unnecessary pressure. Through regular workshops (at least twice a term) and wellbeing-focused events, I’ll work to ensure students feel supported, not overwhelmed.

🤝 Peer Support & Mentorship
I aim to connect freshers with second- and third-years for advice and guidance, making the transition to university life smoother.

🏃 Exercise & Wellbeing Activities
Mental and physical health go hand in hand. I want to introduce group runs, Hyde Park walks, and other fun activities to help students de-stress and stay active.

⚖️ Balancing Social & Academic Life
University isn’t just about studying—I’ll advocate for initiatives that promote a healthier balance between academics and social life.

I want to create a welcoming, supportive environment where everyone feels comfortable reaching out. I’m approachable and always happy to listen—my DMs are always open!
