Hi, I'm Yongmin and I would love to be your ICSMSU Management Group Treasurer next year!
I am committed to helping our ICSM clubs and societies navigate the maze of financial processes and help ensure their financial stability. Having been treasurer for ICSM Music Society, I feel equipped with the knowledge and skills to undertake this position. Managing the finances for 5 separate ensembles has given me an opportunity to familiarise myself with all the Union’s financial processes and I have been successful in writing funding applications for Trips Fund, SMHA and Harlington grant.
Some of the things I would like to achieve as MGT are:
- Expand and develop the current financial booklet to provide advice on matters beyond financial processes. From making the most of additional funding opportunities to things as simple as taking advantage of the PDQ. By introducing guidance on day-to-day financial handling, I hope to streamline management of C+Ss and improve member experiences.
- Introduce opportunities for additional training over the summer to help C+Ss start the year strong and ensure that they aren’t losing out on money unnecessarily.
- Work on improving event budgeting on events like conferences to reduce the risk of making losses and creating excel templates that account for better financial risk assessment.
I promise to work hard, to be diligent and to fulfil all my responsibilities with the weight and gravity required of them.
