Benjamin Rubenstein

Hello, my name is Benjamin Rubenstein and I'm a first year maths student. I would like to be Ethics and Environment Officer in order to continue and help accelerate Imperial's vital shift towards being a greener and more sustainable university.

I have already been part of a campaign with the student-led Plant Based Universities where we successfully managed to get a motion passed in the Imperial College Union, committing the union to advocate for Imperial to gradually change to fully plant-based catering. I was also part of the team campaigning on the ground at Sherfield collecting survey results, listening and talking with other students showed me how important it is to make the effort to bring as many people into the process of change as possible. Every student should be aware of our impact and I will do my utmost to ensure everyone has a say in how we protect our planet.

Never has it been more important to take seriously our impact on the environment and in order to bring about large-scale and systematic change we need to start here at Imperial. I am ready to further the work being done and begin ambitious projects to make Imperial a powerhouse of sustainability.
