Zelin Shao

My name is Zelin, a third year civil engineering student. I am presenting myself as a candidate for the position of Vice President of CGCU. Having been an active member of this committee for the past three years, I have participated and contributed to various activities such as the Welcome Dinner, Karaoke Night, Alumni Bar night and etc.

This year, my role is treasurer, which has given me valuable experience in budgeting and financial management. Additionally, working closely with the Activity Chair on different events has helped me understand the entire activity planning process, from event proposal, risk assesment to final execution. With this combined experience, I am confident in my ability to support both financial stability and event coordination.

As I will be graduating in 2026, if elected, I hope to guide and support new committee members by sharing my experience and preparing them for their future roles. I believe that by fostering a culture of knowledge-sharing and teamwork, we can create a more sustainable and united committee.
