Pariza Jalal

Hi everyone :-)

I'm Pariza, a third-year biochemistry student, currently away on an industrial placement year. I hope to come back for my final year at university and join the RCSU committee as a webmaster, which I will ensure is maintained diligently so that all relevant info is communicated to RCSU members across the college efficiently, using skills I already gained during my second year as social media manager of Art Club.

I have also been involved in volunteer work during my placement year so far:

• Diversity & Inclusion:
  • Part of an internal volunteer group focusing on race/ethnic/cultural diversity and inclusion throughout the workplace
    • Organised a Black History Month stall
  • Involved in planning + marketing monthly lunch sessions for employees
  • Assisting with an International Women’s Day event
• Volunteering at a local school for deaf students for a career day

Alongside these, my experience working with my department and team has developed my teamworking and communication skills. My lab experience has also enhanced my organisational skills and attention to detail, all of which will allow me to manage the RCSU website well.
