Hello everyone! My name is Begüm, I am a first year Biochemist and I was a part of the RCSU committee this year as the Broadsheet Deputy Editor. A lot of people asked me why I chose to help out and the reason is I didn’t know what Broadsheet was and I thought that there is a lot of potential in it (if you don’t know, its the RCSU faculty magazine which is now being revived, our first issue will come out by the end of term!)
I’m running for VPO next year because VPO chairs oversee a wide range of things such as our website, social media and our magazine, Broadsheet which I helped revive this year. Another great task of the VPO is the procurement of sponsorship. I have experience in creating sponsorship documents, presenting them to companies and have led a conference at my high school which had a turnover of 1 million Turkish Liras. I believe that I have good experience and even greater motivation to serve as the VPO next year.
