Hello everyone! I'm Olivia, and I am running to be your Materials Departmental Academic Representative.

I am currently the year two rep, and it is safe to say I very much enjoy this role (despite some of you not reading my emails (it's okay)). Being able to make active changes to the department, for example, helping organise student-led revision sessions, is definitely the best part, and I intend to continue with these while implementing new ideas.

The other part of the role is to express these views/concerns/criticisms/suggestions, etc., to the department. I found this daunting at first. But, and this is where I hope my experience counts, you find out what works and what doesn’t when providing feedback to the department. Nobody likes to be criticised, but providing feedback and class representation in the right way can lead to a constructive, positive dialogue and change.

As ever, I will always strive to respectfully advocate for your thoughts and opinions. I am committed to addressing any concerns you may have, whether they relate to lecturers, deadlines, workshops, or other departmental matters.
