Sarah Azam

Hey! I'm Sarah, a 5th year Medic and I'd be honoured to be your next ICSMSU President! Being part of ICSM has been an incredible privilege and I'd love to give back to this wonderful community.

Over the past 5 years, I've immersed myself in the student experience, finding joy, support and comfort in all corners. My previous SU and Chair roles have equipt me with the confidence and skills to lead and navigate intricate discussions.

My Aims:

1. Foster a Supportive Community

• I've always felt at home at ICSM, thanks to the wonderful individuals and C&S that make up our community.
• I hope for every student to share this sentiment by exploring the barriers that prevent students from engaging, and to then develop strategies to mitigate for this.

2. Champion the Student Voice

• Collaborate with Reps and SU Officers to lobby for change, creating a united Representation network that can effectively influence Faculty led decisions.
• Guide ICSMSU to actively search and listen to the student voice by adopting an open door policy where students feel empowered to voice their concerns.

3. Promote Global Accessibility

• Encourage WP & EDI projects enabling engagement in all forms of student life.
• Amplify underrepresented voices.

4. Encourage ICU Collaboration

• Facilitate conversations between constituent unions to better understand the needs of the wider student body and how they align with ICSM.
• Develop the skillset of ICSMSU to build a strong representation team for ICSM.
