Nao Matsushita
As your Treasurer, my utmost focus will be on each and every member. I believe that meeting the needs and aspirations of the community should be the minimum commitment; I pledge to maintain transparency in all financial matters while also reflecting the voices of the society. I will serve as a bridge between you, the committee, and the union, ensuring integrity as we shape a memorable year for the Japanese Society together.
My greatest strength lies in taking on responsibility within a large community. As an experienced baseball team captain in various countries, I have had the privilege of sharing challenging yet rewarding moments with teammates from diverse backgrounds. This experience has taught me strong interpersonal skills, resilience, and patience — all crucial for obtaining funding and resources. I will actively seek to build robust relationships with internal and external organisations to secure sponsorships and collaborations that will ensure our community thrives.
As a second-year Chemistry student who joined the society last year, I found a supportive environment that feels like home. I truly understand what it is like to initially feel like an outsider, having spent my childhood in Tokyo, Hong Kong, New York, and London. My goal is therefore to create an inclusive atmosphere through organising events and activities. I am fully committed to supporting this by taking charge of the society's logistics. By the end of the year, I hope that you will feel fulfilled and proud to be involved in the Japanese Society at Imperial College.
