Hi everyone,
I’m Marya, and I'm excited to apply for the position of Equipment Officer for iPRAS!
My journey with iPRAS began when I attended the Microsurgery and RTS conferences, which sparked my passion for plastic surgery and the collaborative spirit of the society's community.
As a detail-oriented individual, I understand the importance of maintaining/managing surgical equipment effectively. My experience in coordinating/assisting events has pinned my skills in resource management and organisation e.g. helping out at the FRCS Plastics Exam. I am committed that our society has the best resources available. What I am most excited about is the range of responsibilities that come with the role of Equipment Officer!
My leadership roles are testemant to my dedication and professionalism:
- Personnel Officer for the Trauma 2024 Conference
- Events Officer for the Transplant & Vascular Society
- Treasurer and Social Media Manager for FoP
- Small Group Leader and Panel Member for FLPSUS in collaboration with Duke University
These roles have strengthened my organisational, leadership, and communication skills, which I believe will be assets to iPRAS.
I believe I can bring a new set of ideas to the society and the first would be to create an online mini-tutorial series on suturing techniques to help students build a strong foundation before attending hands-on workshops, such as the femoral artery anastomosis session at the microsurgery conference.
I am inspired by the dedication of iPRAS's members and recognise the crucial role of working alongside like-minded individuals and contributing to our shared goals!
Best,
Marya 😊
