Ayman Faisal
Assalamualaykum
I would love to be VP of PotMed this year. MM has been part of some of the best moments over the last three years for me alhamdulillah.
The foundations and morals the society stands on and helps us incorporate into our lives is something I admire. I would be honoured to have the opportunity to build on the work of everyone who has done an amazing job so far.
MM is involved with so many aspects of everyone’s journey, from supporting medical applicants all the way to celebrating final years and beyond. Over my time on committee, I aimed to experience as much of this as possible meaning as well as leading my own stream I would be a valuable member to the MM committee overall.
Potmed is where potential applicants have one of their first experiences of university and is a great way to make medicine more approachable for people from every background. I imagine if I had known about it I would have found it a very useful resource. I would love to carry this on and widen the reach through bringing back Potmed on tour and exploring the mentor scheme.
I loved the social aspect of MM and embraced this with the role of social secretary. Organising large scale events, including freshers and annual dinner, involved skills such as decision making but alongside it taught me a lot about working with others and how leadership plays an important role in the success of an event.
