Nethra Subramanian
Hi, my name is Nethra - I would love to run for the role of Events Officer!
I think Global Health is unique and fascinating in that it encourages people to think wider than the NHS. Globalisation has led to the world becoming increasingly interconnected, so it is more important to consider health and health equity on a global scale. I am super interested in learning more about this and contributing to this society at Imperial. I would love to help organise the events, conferences and talks that Students for Global Health Society runs. I also hope I can bring several new and exciting ideas, including running more interactive workshops and panel discussions. I also think the key to the society is collaboration, whether it's with other societies within Imperial or external societies.
I have experience on committee for other societies - I was on committee for the Personalised Medicine Society as the conference lead where I contacted and liased with speakers, and was involved the with planning and overseeing the logistics of the conference. I have experience helping plan large events for TSOC. I greatly enjoyed these experiences of planning the conferences, and meeting so many new people in various healthcare related fields and hope to do the same with Global Health Society.
I believe I can bring a lot to this amazing society, with my passion for the subject and my experience in running similar events for other societies.
Thank you for your support!
