Nilani Nithiyananthan
Hi! My name is Nilani, and I would love to be your teaching coordinator at Neuro Soc!
As a private tutor for over 5 years, I have gained valuable experience in explaining complex concepts clearly and tailoring my approach to meet the needs of everyone - a skill that is crucial in coordinating teaching sessions on challenging neurology topics. Furthermore, my experience as netball captain of my local netball team has solidified my organisation and teamwork skills. Leading a team requires effective communication, planning and adaptability - qualities that are vital for organising events and ensuring they run smoothly. These experiences have strengthened my organisation, teamwork and communication skills, which are important qualities that I can apply as a teaching coordinator.
Being a teaching coordinator is not easy - it requires responsibility, commitment and flexibility. If elected, I will work to expand the teaching programme, incorporating revision sessions relevant to preclinical and clinical years, organise practical workshops such as brain dissections, and provide peer-to-peer learning opportunities. I would be honoured to take on this role and am privileged to be a part of a proactive team.
Thank you for reading this! I hope you will consider me as your future teaching coordinator!
