Hanqing ZHANG
As a PhD student in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, I am running for Events Officer to build a energetic, connected, and supportive community for all students. I believe that engaging events are essential for fostering collaboration, relieving stress, and enhancing our university experience.
My Goals:
1. Building a Connected Community: I aim to organize fortnightly a variety of events, including game nights, outdoor activities, and sports events, to bring together students from across programs. These gatherings will create a sense of belonging, encourage friendships, and foster a cohesive and supportive department community.
2. Career Development and Networking: I will arrange seminars featuring PhD students and visiting researchers, as well as networking events that align with our field’s interests. These sessions will provide valuable insights, expand our professional networks, and help students prepare for careers or PhD applications. Success will be measured by attendance and student feedback.
3. Facilitating Peer Support: I plan to host group study sessions and exam prep events around key academic milestones. These sessions will promote collaboration, resource sharing, and peer mentoring, helping us all achieve greater academic success together.
I am committed to making our department a welcoming and engaging place for all students. Vote for me, and together we’ll create events that enrich our academic journey and strengthen our daily community.
