Reem Al Saud
I am committed to enhancing the postgraduate experience for our Business School community. With a strong background in leadership and student representation, I am poised to advocate for our students. As your Council Representative, I will prioritize mentorship, career development, and networking while ensuring a seamless integration of online and on-campus experiences.
If elected as your Postgraduate Council Representative, my initiatives will focus on the following:
1. Mentorship for Postgraduate Students & Alumni: Understanding that most Business School master’s programs last just one year, I propose a mentorship scheme offering industry-specific guidance. By collaborating with the Careers Service and Alumni Office, we can establish valuable mentor-mentee pairings. I aim to launch this program by mid-term, connecting students with alumni and industry experts to foster growth throughout the academic year.
2. Tailored Career Development: I will partner with the Careers Service to organize targeted networking events, guest speaker sessions, and workshops in finance, marketing, entrepreneurship, and other relevant disciplines. This includes job interview speed dating sessions that connect students with potential employers. My goal is to host at least one networking event and two workshops by the end of the academic year, providing essential industry connections.
3. Integrating Online/On-Campus Experiences: I will advocate for expanding opportunities for online students to engage with on-campus resources and events, ensuring they receive necessary support to succeed. This includes hybrid events that enable online students to network and participate in discussions alongside their on-campus peers, fostering collaboration and enriching the educational experience for all.
