Ananya Gupta
Hi everyone,
I’m Anya, and I’m excited to run for Biological Sciences Year 2 Wellbeing Rep. As a fellow biology student, I understand the intense workload, long hours in the lab, and the pressure of balancing academics with personal life, but I believe that with the right support system, we can thrive in all aspects. My goal is to ensure that we all have access to the resources, community, and environment we need to maintain our well-being throughout the year.
If elected, I will prioritise practical mental health support that truly meets our needs, focusing on useful drop-in sessions where we can openly discuss stress management, share experiences, and take breaks from our coursework, rather than attending generic wellbeing talks. I also hope to work with Imperial's mental health services to ensure we have resources specific to biology students, addressing heavy workloads and complex schedules.
Building community is key to well-being, so I hope to integrate social acitivities, such as casual meet-ups, group study sessions, and biology-themed events to help us unwind, connect, and support each other. Open communication will be a priority, with anonymous surveys and informal chats ensuring everyone can raise any concerns or queries. I’ll actively advocate for solutions that benefit us all.
I’m committed to supporting our year group, and would be honored to serve as your Wellbeing Representative to work towards a more positive, balanced experience for us all.
Thank you for your support!
